Children's hope: help of the Dnepropetrovsk RCCH. Onco 6
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and assist Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
In the framework of the Oncology project in April 2022, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital will receive assistance.
The funds raised for the Oncohematology Center of the hospital will be used to purchase 2 Patient Monitors UM 300-T-15 with portable stands and 4 Syringe infusomats SP1. The monitor allows to provide continuous monitoring of vital signs of the patient in the necessary volume during all period of treatment. Infusomats are necessary for dosed administration of small volumes of fluid to patients during treatment. This equipment will help children at a better level.
KP "Dnipropetrovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital" DOR is a center for providing specialized medical care to children from the Dnipropetrovsk region (population of about 550 thousand), including patients with oncological and oncohematological pathology.
Every year, more than 1,400 children with cancer receive special treatment at the hospital. About 85 of them have primary forms. Treatment is carried out according to protocols developed and tested by the world's leading children's oncology centers. The result of treatment is close to the European average.
Currently, the hospital administration is conducting comprehensive preparations for the start of autologous stem cell transplantation. Thanks to it, about 30 children a year will be able to receive such treatment, which saves the lives of children in the most difficult clinical situations of high-risk tumors and in cases of chemoresistance.
