«Children's hope: help to the Dnipropetrovsk RMTCRZ. Onco 8»
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the Children's Hope project to help children with heart disease and cancer treated in Ukrainian hospitals. In April 2023, the Children's Hope project was expanded to include a new area of work - helping children with burns. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and provide necessary medical equipment to Ukrainian hospitals.
As part of the oncology project, in October 2023, the Regional Medical Center for Family Health of the Regional State Administration (formerly the Dnipro Regional Children's Clinical Hospital) will receive assistance.
The hospital, despite the war, has made repairs to two intensive care units of the Onco-Hematology Center, where young patients with cancer are treated, and now needs new medical furniture. Two sets of children's medical furniture will be purchased for the Onco-Hematology Center (for details, see the Reports and Documents section).
The Regional Medical Center for Family Health provides highly specialized medical care in accordance with the requirements for hospitals of the third level of medical care. The hospital currently has a capacity of 645 beds. To date, the hospital is the only one that can fully provide multidisciplinary care for children in the southeastern region. During the first half of 2023, more than 425 children with cancer received special treatment at the hospital. About 90 of them had primary forms. It is expected that about 900 children will receive special treatment during the year.
