Children's Hope: Help To The Heart Institute 2
In November 2018, Kyivstar together with the Ukrainian Charity Exchange launched the Children's Hope project to help children with heart disease and cancer treated in Ukrainian hospitals.
In the framework of the Cardiology project, in January 2022, the State Institution "Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" will receive assistance.
The Heart Institute is a specialized scientific and clinical institution in cardiology, heart and main vascular surgery, X-ray endovascular diagnostics and transplantology. Every year, the medical institution performs more than 6,000 heart surgeries, of which about 800 are for congenital heart defects. The hospital provides outpatient care to more than 120,000 Ukrainians.
The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit for newborns and premature babies, which annually provides assistance to thousands of children with cardiovascular disease. Resuscitation is designed for 18 people and provides assistance to cardiac and cardiac surgery patients around the clock. Every year, the pediatric department performs 450 open heart surgeries, more than 250 endovascular interventions and performs 15,000 echocardiograms.
The funds raised will be used to purchase 2 external two-chamber temporary Medtronic pacemakers, which are used for pacemaking and resuscitation of children at different stages of treatment. The equipment will allow to provide treatment to newborns and premature babies at a better level.
