Completed Children's Hope: Help to Kharkiv ODKL.Onco2
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and help Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
As part of the oncology project, the Paediatric Oncology Department of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Kharkiv Regional Council, will receive assistance in August-September 2024. Despite the constant shelling of the city, doctors continue to provide the necessary medical care to children in Kharkiv and the surrounding areas. Every year, the department receives about 600 patients with tumours and onco-haematological diseases. They receive multi-day (2 to 7 days) round-the-clock intravenous chemotherapy courses. More than 60 chemotherapy courses are conducted per year.
The funds raised will be used to purchase a blood platelet incubator and consumables. The incubator provides accurate and stable storage conditions for platelets, which play an important role in wound healing and blood clotting. Continuous agitation and controlled temperature ensure safe storage of platelet concentrates.
