In November 2018, Kyivstar together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace launched the Children's Hope project to help children with heart disease and cancer treated in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and help Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.

In May 2025, the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, a municipal non-profit enterprise of the Kharkiv Regional Council, will receive assistance under the oncology project. Despite the constant shelling of the city, doctors continue to provide round-the-clock medical care to children in Kharkiv and neighboring regions.

The children's hospital will be provided with a computerized electroencephalography (EEG) system, a critical diagnostic equipment that allows to study the electrical activity of the brain. This is especially important for children undergoing oncology treatment. After all, oncological processes and chemotherapy can affect the central nervous system. In addition, some patients are diagnosed with brain tumors or complications that require careful neurological monitoring.

Thanks to this equipment, doctors will be able to

  • detect brain damage in time;
  • prevent seizures, epileptic attacks and other complications;
  • plan individualized treatment and rehabilitation programs.
