In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. In the framework of the project in the direction of Oncology on May,7 2019, the Department of Radiation Diagnostics of the National Cancer Institute was received assistance.
National Cancer Institute - the main medical institution of Ukraine in the fight against cancer.
In 2018, 1,848 children were examined at the Radiation Diagnostic Unit. The number of small children grows year by year, requiring technical support at the responsible level. As a result of existing shortages of radiological equipment in the diagnostic department of the National Cancer Institute, no more than 20% of the patients' inquiries come from actual needs.
On the collected funds, an uninterruptible power supply and a linear sensor was purchased to the ultrasound apparatus HD11XE, which will be used for preoperative examination of soft tissues of the limbs of children, postoperative control of established endoprostheses and detection of metastases in the lymph nodes.
