Children's Hope: Help to NMSH "OHMATDIT" 3
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and help Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
In the framework of the Oncology project in January 2023, the Department of Endoscopy with the functional block of the NDSL "OKHMATDIT" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine will receive assistance. For many years, the hospital has been providing highly specialized care to the most difficult patients from all over Ukraine with various pathologies, including neuro-oncological, oncological and oncohematological ones. Examination and treatment for young Ukrainians is free of charge.
At various stages of treatment, electroencephalographic examinations are performed for patients with oncological diseases. In 2022, 1,551 EEGs were performed, including 185 with long-term monitoring on critical and non-ambulatory neuro-oncology and bedside oncology patients, thanks to equipment purchased for the hospital in 2021. Taking into account the move to the New Building of the hospital, the opening of additional beds in the neurosurgery department, the opening of two more intensive care units in addition to the existing one, the need for EEG studies with long-term monitoring of non-transportable neuro-oncology and oncological patients who are in the neurosurgery department and intensive care units has increased significantly. Currently, there is a great need to purchase a second portable electroencephalographic computer complex "BRAINTEST 24" with the function of long-term monitoring for the endoscopy department with a functional unit.
Long-term monitoring involves conducting a study, the minimum duration of which is two hours, the presence of a second EEG monitoring complex will allow two patients to be studied at the same time, which will reduce the patient's waiting time for the study, relieve the existing queue and allow doctors to get the necessary information about the patient's condition and adjust the appointment faster.
With the collected funds, a portable electroencephalographic complex "BRAINTEST 24" with the function of long-term monitoring will be purchased and transferred. This equipment will make it possible to provide treatment to children with oncological pathology at a higher quality level.
