Children's hope: help to the Odessa regional hospital. Cardiac surgery 3
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched "Children's Hope" project to help children with heart disease and cancer treated in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the programme continues to operate and provide necessary medical equipment to Ukrainian hospitals. In the spring of 2023, the "Children's Hope" initiative will be expanded to include a new area of work - help for children with burns - to provide medical care to children with burns in Ukraine.
As part of the Cardiology project, in June 2024, the Cardiovascular Surgery Department with Intensive Care Unit of the Odesa Oblast Children's Clinical Hospital of the Odesa Oblast Council will receive assistance.
Every year, up to 200 children are newly diagnosed with congenital heart disease. During the year, approximately 150 children are treated, about 20 of whom are children weighing less than 1.5 kilograms and who also need surgical interventions. The Cardiovascular Surgery Department with an intensive care unit provides inpatient care for children with congenital heart disease and vascular anomalies, and continues to operate even in the midst of a full-scale war.
The funds raised will be used to purchase medical trolleys for the hospital's cardiovascular department for transporting and temporary storage of instruments, devices and medicines:
- Medical trolley CA9062 - 1 pc;
- Medical trolley CA9068 - 3 pcs.
The Odesa Oblast Children's Clinical Hospital provides care to children from the city of Odesa, Odesa Oblast and neighbouring regions. The purchased equipment will make it easier to care for patients in hospitals, help medical staff move the necessary equipment between wards and buildings of the hospital, and allow them to provide better treatment to children.
