Children's hope: help to the Odessa regional hospital. Cancer 7
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and assist Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
As part of the project in the direction of oncology, in November 2022, the Municipal non-commercial enterprise "Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital" of the Odesa Regional Council will receive assistance.
The hospital has a department of pediatric hematology, where children with malignant neoplasms of various organs and systems are receiving inpatient treatment. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the hospital has provided assistance to 200 children with oncological diseases, of which 31 children were initially treated.
Annually, there are up to 70 children who are diagnosed for the first time. During the year, up to 500 patients are treated, while each child in the treatment process needs constant monitoring of various medical indicators, in particular the process of coagulation of the blood system and monitoring of the patients' microflora. The medical institution provides assistance to children from the city of Odesa, Odesa region and neighboring regions.
With the collected funds, the department will purchase a table for transporting Golem Trans H, a chair for transfusions Golem Dia E, which will help in the treatment and movement of children in the department, as well as an air sterilizer HPO 25. This equipment will allow providing assistance to children at a higher quality level.
