Children's Hope: Help to the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery 3

In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.

As part of the Cardiology project, in June 2021, the State Institution "Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" will receive assistance.

Every year, thousands of children from all over Ukraine receive highly qualified cardiological and cardiac surgery care at the medical centre free of charge. The centre performs surgeries on children with congenital heart defects from the first hours of life, and provides emergency and routine care for children of all ages with heart and vascular diseases. Treatment is also provided to children from orphanages, socially vulnerable children and internally displaced persons.

The Centre's doctors provide about 70% of all care for Ukrainian children with congenital heart disease. Each year, the Centre provides more than 20,000 consultations for children and performs more than 1 000  surgeries for cardiovascular pathology of any complexity in patients of all ages.

The funds raised will be used to purchase 4 uMEC12 series patient monitors (with trolleys for mounting the monitors) for the needs of the Centre's operating unit, which are necessary for monitoring various physiological parameters of the patient, such as ECG, heart rate, respiration, temperature, arterial blood oxygen saturation, pulse rate, non-invasive blood pressure, invasive blood pressure, cardiac output and carbon dioxide content. This equipment will improve the quality of medical care for children.
