Children's Hope: Help to Lviv Regional Council. 2

In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.

In the framework of the project in the direction of Oncology project, in July 1, 2020, assistance received from the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council "Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center".

Children with malignant solid tumors (tumors of the kidney, liver, bone and joint system and soft tissues, tumors of the brain, eye, lor-localization) receive specialized surgical and chemotherapy treatment in the surgical department of ZUSDMC. Since 1992, the institution has introduced treatments for the European Association of Pediatric Oncologists (SIOP) and the Association of Pediatric Oncologists of America (COG), which are constantly being improved and approved by the MOH Orders.

The results of treatment at the center correspond to world statistics. The percentage of cures for certain malignancies (tumors of the kidneys, tumors of the genitals) exceeds 90%. At the same time more than 50 children from Lviv region and other regions of Western and Central Ukraine receive treatment at the center. In 2018, 130 children with cancer were treated.

Funds raised was purchased from the Biosafety Cabinet HR40-II-A2. The laminar cabinet is used to create a sterile environment in the laboratory and to conduct laboratory tests. This equipment will allow laboratory studies for the treatment of oncology in children at a higher level.
