In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with dobro.ua / Ukrainian Charity Exchange, launched the Children's Hope project to help children with heart disease and cancer who are being treated in Ukrainian hospitals.
In the spring of 2023, the program expanded to include a new area of assistance: support for children with burns. In 2025, Children's Hope continued to develop and was expanded to provide assistance to pediatric intensive care units.
As part of the Cardiology project, in January 2026, assistance will be provided to the pediatric department and functional diagnostics office of the Lviv Regional Council's Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center, a municipal non-profit enterprise.
This institution is one of the key centers of pediatric medicine in the region and provides assistance to approximately 7,000–7,500 children with oncohematological and oncological diseases, nephrological pathologies (including those requiring various types of dialysis), orphan diseases, congenital and acquired immunodeficiency conditions, rheumatological diseases, as well as children before and after organ transplantation (kidney and bone marrow).
To ensure high-quality diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex cardiovascular pathology, the funds raised will be used to purchase two LabTech EC-ABP ambulatory blood pressure monitors.
Daily blood pressure monitoring is a mandatory protocol examination and is crucial for doctors to make the right clinical decisions regarding the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension in children.
The purchased equipment will allow for more modern and accurate examinations, timely detection of disorders, adjustment of treatment, and improvement of the quality of medical care for children with heart disease.
