Children's Hope: Help to Lviv Regional Council. Onco 5
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.
In the framework of the Oncology project in October 2021, the Municipal Non-Commercial Enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council "Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center" will receive assistance.
ZUSDMC became the most powerful of the regional centers of Ukraine in pediatric oncology and hematology according to statistics 2019-2020. Due to the implementation of the strategy for the development of the oncology service during 2014-2020, more than 200 children from all regions of Ukraine received oncological treatment in the institution during 2020.
ZUSDMC has launched a large-scale project in the field of pediatric oncology and transplantation. According to preliminary estimates, at least 200 children and adolescents in Ukraine need a bone marrow transplant every year. About 50-75 of them are residents of the Western region and 15-20 are residents of Lviv. Today, such operations are performed on children only in NDSL "OKHMATDIT" and the National Cancer Institute. At the starting capacity, the center can perform 12-15 transplants during the year.
The funds raised will be used to purchase equipment to ensure the safety of children with cancer and workers during bone marrow transplants, namely: a chair for transfusion and collection of Golem Dia E stem cells - 1 piece, and a chair for transfusion Golem Dia complete with a patient's desk - 2 pieces.
