Burn injuries rank second among childhood injuries and are among the most difficult to treat. St. Nicholas Hospital is one of only two tertiary level centres in Ukraine that provides care for burn patients. It is the only one in the western regions of Ukraine where children with severe burns and war victims are saved.
One of the hospital's critical needs is a Bair Hugger patient heating system.
With severe burns or critical conditions, children's bodies cannot maintain the required temperature on their own. During surgeries and procedures, children need stable warmth so that their bodies can fight for life.
Bair Hugger is a special heating system that
- maintains a stable body temperature during surgery;
- reduces the risk of postoperative complications;
- accelerates wound healing and improves the patient's general condition
- prevents hypothermia, which can lead to critical consequences.
- Together we can help doctors save lives!
The collection for medical equipment is part of the Children's Hope project by Kyivstar and the dobro.ua charity platform.
Kyivstar encourages its subscribers to join the charity transfers to support children with burns.
Each subscriber can help by activating the package ‘Kyivstar TV. Charity’ package, 40% of which will go to support the Children's Hope projects every month, and prepaid users can also make a donation via SMS with the amount of UAH 1 to UAH 3,000 to 450025.
Every contribution is important because it saves children
