To the kindergarten – by own feet

We know Dania for over a year. In his almost 4 the child still can't walk. Therefore, it's necessary to put the boy on his feet, because he had already endured so much for his not so a long life: on the third day after birth Dania had internal bleeding into the brain, however, contrary to the predictions of doctors, he survived. And it was a real miracle. It's hard to imagine how much strength and patience applies Dania's mom to her son to see him walking on his feet. Let's give this family another miracle as a gift!

This time the closest person of the boy, the woman who gave him life, his mother is going to tell us about her son. 

"My name is Olga, and I'm mother of a "special child". So I want to tell you our story. During five years of marriage we have been doing everything possible to get pregnant and have a baby. We undergo many medical examinations and even more treatment. But there was no result. And when we started considering the possibility of adoption, it turned out that I was pregnant. Our happiness knew no limits!

Although pregnancy proceeded without complications, Dania was born at eight months. His lungs were not fully opened. This caused a critical condition, reanimation, artificial ventilation of the lungs. On the third day of breathing through ALV apparatus, intra cerebral hemorrhage occurred. Doctors said that he would die. But Danya survived. One month we spent in the resuscitation unit.

Then we returned home and began fighting: massages; exercise therapy; therapeutic horse riding; rehabilitation centers in Lviv, Kyiv, Khmelnitskyi; continuous medication. But in spite of all our efforts, when Dania was one year old, he was diagnosed with spastic tetraplegia, delays in static sense and speech development, convulsive disorder. And even though prognoses of doctors were unfavorable, we have positive results.

Dania is very cheerful and jolly boy. He likes listen to music and even takes lessons from a professional drummer and already knows how to play the drum. And for the ability to sit, we are grateful to our "hippotherapist", whose name is Buyan. Three times a week we visit the riding school "Patriot". He likes cartoons very much and the most desirable toys for him are computer and mobile phone. Doctors assess Dania as a promising child who needs a constant therapy in order to begin to walk independently. And in order to catch up with his peers he needs lessons with a speech therapist and psychologist, and pharmaceutical treatment.

In 2014 Dania underwent rehabilitation for 6 times. He became stronger and more mature boy. Dania sits confidently and can already crawl. He can speak, but still he has problems with it. And only due to lessons with a speech therapist and psychologist we can see positive results. We also do not stop attending the hippotherapy sessions with our "hippotherapist" Buyan. Next autumn Daniel is going to start kindergarten.

It is very necessary for him now, because Danya reached that age when a child should learn how to communicate and exist with other people. But here we also face a problem – he will not be accepted to kindergarten unless he walks independently and we are so close to this goal. Now Dania has plaster casts on his feet in order to cure misalignment which is the main obstacle for the boy to walk independently.

We appeal to you to help us to collect money for the next course of rehabilitation. The better Dania feels himself, the more rehabilitation courses he needs, in order not to forget what he has already learned. Danya’s father is the only working person in our family. He is builder and his salary depends from the season and is about 4 000 UAH. On weekends he tries to earn some additional money making repairs privately, but still it is not enough. We have so much to do for our son, because we hope that one day he would walk and speak to us. However, all our family savings have been already spent. We ask everyone who is not indifferent, please help our child to recover. We would like to see our son healthy and smiling, walking on the playground, playing with other kids. We dream that we will enjoy his success in development.

That's the story of Daniel, who needs our help. The boy's parents do not stop in front of difficulties; they use all the possibilities and opportunities for regular courses of rehabilitation. And the next course of rehabilitation he should undergo in April 2015 in Truskavets. The cost of this treatment is 7 890 UAH.
