We raised money to buy an occluder and save Daria Biryuk’s heart. But during the standard preoperative study, it turned out that the child could not be able to deliver the intracardiac implant in this case for a number of objective reasons. Therefore, at the request of the Operator of Help, the already acquired intracardiac implant will be able to help Artem Gerasimenko, now we can save his heart.

"Artem has a congenital heart disease – a ventricular septal defect, open oval window. Congenital heart disease in my son was discovered during a routine inspection on the second day of life. From the hospital, we were sent to an ultrasound of the heart, where we were to confirm the diagnosis – remembrance defect of the interventricular membrane. Two months later, we were assigned a second consultation at the Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. After the examination, treatment was prescribed. In September, at the second consultation, the doctors reported that the situation had not changed.

In parallel, we asked for advice at theAmosov Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery. The doctors noted that the defect is small, the child is still small, at that time we were four months old, the defect can be closed on our own. Several times a year, and then annually, we went to the survey. This year, the cardiologist told us that they do not see positive dynamics in closing the opening, it began to increase, and the ventricle increased accordingly.

After the last consultation, we were assured that there was no point in waiting, and an operation was needed to avoid the risk of complications. We were offered to undergo endovascular surgery to close the ventricular septal defect, since the child’s body tolerates this operation more easily. The last six months, the child is often sick. Immediately the temperature rises, and we are forced to give antibiotics, antiviral drugs. Surgical intervention is carried out for free, but the occluder must be purchased for your money. I am on maternity leave to care for a child, and my husband receives a low wage, so we cannot cope on our own. We ask and hope for help".
