Help for the children of Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital* provides medical care to children in the Mykolaiv region around the clock. The facility has 430 beds and 15 specialized departments. Every week, 90-100 children are born in the entire Mykolaiv region. Today, the hospital's focus has shifted not only to helping sick children, but also to providing emergency medical care to children with war-related injuries.
More than 2,000 children receive help here in just one month.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide the hospital with medical equipment such as an audiometer, tympanometer and encephalograph. This is an important set of diagnostic equipment for detecting hearing impairments in children and brain damage. Thanks to the project, we have already managed to purchase and transfer an audiometer and a tympanometer to the hospital, but fundraising for an encephalograph is still ongoing.

On average, 150-180 children undergo electroencephalography (EEG) per month, so the hospital is in dire need of a new high-quality device.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is the main method of studying the brain. It allows detecting changes in brain function in various neurological disorders, consequences of birth trauma, and hypoxia. In fact, EEG is a reflection of brain function.

With the help of EEG, children are diagnosed with such diseases and syndromes as autism, sleep disorders, autonomic dysfunction, Down syndrome, infectious brain diseases, mental retardation, epilepsy, and much more. The earlier these diseases are diagnosed, the better and more effective the treatment will be for the child.
