Helping orphans

In Kiev, there is a unique shelter for disadvantaged children – the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation “Home of Happy Children”. The peculiarity of the Center is that it restores the psyche of children who were destined to be born in difficult families. Their parents must be alcohol or drug addicted, or mentally unwell. It is difficult to imagine what these children went through. Hunger, bullying, unsanitary conditions, violence (both moral, physical and sexual). One guy lived in a cardboard box on the balcony and ate only what was given to him by people who came to his parents to buy drugs. There are stories like this for a whole series, but we can't keep our eyebrows together for a long time in pity. We must act and save children who are not responsible for their adult parents, are not guilty of anything and are wonderful children, but with severe psychotrauma.

That is why the employees of the Center are always mobilized and ready for any circumstances. Children undergo rehabilitation and then move on to new families. While the process of finding a family and the legal formality of transferring a child is underway, psychologists and educators work with the pupils of the Center according to an individually developed program for restoring the psyche of children. Children go to study in ordinary schools, and return to the Center as if they were home, where an atmosphere of family comfort, parental care and all the joys of childhood was created for them.

It's like a home for each of us. Imagine if suddenly the electricity and water are turned off in this house. And this is quite possible, because the City of Happy Children is not a profitable organization and exists solely thanks to the help of caring citizens. Therefore, every hryvnia is important for us, so as not to leave our children without warmth and light.

The main goal of the project is to raise funds to pay for utilities, namely, bills for cold and hot water, electricity, renting premises, without which life is impossible! The amount payable for 1 month (May) for cold water is UAH 3,800, for hot water – UAH 8,000, for electricity – UAH 10,000, for renting a room – UAH 7,600. Now it is simply necessary to raise funds to pay for utilities, since the Center may be left without communications necessary for life!
