Let's help doctors save babies

Premature babies are born much earlier, fit in the palm of your hand and weigh only 500 grams or more. They need special attention, care and care, and high-quality medical equipment and timely and fully provided professional medical care give such a child a chance for a full life in the future.

From 6 to 10% of children immediately after birth need treatment in the conditions of the intensive care unit using a neonatal incubator; 60% of them are children born prematurely.

The main function of the incubator for premature babies is to protect the baby from the harmful effects of the environment and create favorable and optimal conditions for it to be inside the incubator, which guarantees more effective treatment and speeds up the recovery of the baby. Such a result is achieved by constant control of the main parameters vitally necessary for the body of a newborn:

• constant oxygen level;

• maintenance of humidification of warm air;

• optimal temperature regime at the level of 37^оC.

When the temperature rises or falls below the reference value, it leads to hyperthermia or hypothermia, respectively. In these two conditions, the brain does not receive a sufficient amount of blood, which leads to illness and organ failure of babies. The equipment keeps the parameters set by the doctors, and in the case of the slightest deviations, it notifies the medical staff with sound and light signals.

The goal of our project is to purchase and transfer a BB-200 Standard incubator for newborns to the CNP "Hadiach City Central Hospital" of the Hadiach City Council of Poltava Region, where the number of childbirths, especially premature ones, increased with the beginning of the war, due to the large number of IDP women.

 In addition to premature babies, treatment in the incubator is required by newborns with surgical and neurosurgical pathology, for whom the pre- and postoperative period in conditions of stable temperature and constant air humidity is very important. And this can be provided precisely by a neonatal incubator. There are also special filters that retain the smallest particles of dust and dirt and have a thermal curtain.
