Help Artem overcome the disease. 5

Artem was supposed to be born a healthy child, all tests, ultrasounds, indications were normal. But... the baby was born at 32 weeks of gestation. During childbirth, Artem survived hypoxia of the brain, which caused all the troubles that fell on the boy. Up to a year, parents did not suspect what was waiting for them, no one spoke about the possible consequences. The child grew up with a developmental delay, but doctors explained this by prematurity. At the age of 1 year, the baby was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This was a terrible blow for the family. When all stages of denial and acceptance passed, the struggle began for everyone, but above all for Artem.  

Fighting is a constant medication, painful procedures, stretch marks, regular rehabilitation, exercise therapy, physiotherapy. Artem underwent 2 surgeries, on legs and on his eyes. Through small victories, the boy achieved significant results. Now he stands bravely with support, with caution he can stand for several seconds by himself. Walks by the handle. Trying to take independent steps. It is hard for him, but he succeeds. Fear, increased tone, weakness of the muscles of the legs, back, and poor balance interfere. 

Every day Artem is exercising with his mother at home, does therapy, walks on a treadmill, performs stretching legs. But these activities are not enough. He needs the help of qualified specialists in medical centers. It is necessary to undergo such rehabilitation courses every 2-3 months. The cost of such treatment is unbearable for a mother who is working around the clock with a child with a disability and does not have the opportunity to go to work. Dad does not live with the family. Social benefits barely cover basic needs. In addition, due to the war in the Donbas, the family was forced to leave their home and, for 5 years now, has been wandering in rented apartments.

Artem is a very promising boy, and he has every chance to become like everyone else, to learn to walk and serve himself. He cannot be left untreated! But without the help of caring people, mom just can't cope. UBB donors have already helped the boy to get to 4 rehabilitation courses (previous projects here).
