Kirill Ivanenko is a boy who was born in Debaltsevo in the time of shooting attacks and high-intensity battlefields. Fear and horror experienced then by Kirill’s mother, Yuliia, influenced the childbirth and had fateful consequences for the baby. Severe damage of the nervous system has resulted into such diagnoses as cerebral palsy, tetraparesis, autism and psycho-speech delay. Now, when the kid is 6.5 years old, he does not speak, badly understands speech addressed to him, can’t serve himself, does not play with toys, can’t use steps on his own, run or jump…

After Kirill was born, Yuliia had to leave ATO zone and become a settler in the new city with a sick child. However, she did not give up and decided to struggle for her son. Thanks to the help of caring people, Kirill has sustained 7 rehabilitation courses at Koziavkin Clinic of Truskavets City. He also undertakes bioacoustical correction courses and TOMATIS therapy at “Leprekon+” center. The treatment has results – the child’s movement coordination has improved, he shows interest to the surrounding people, started to pay attention to words and actions of other children and adults, became friendly, takes part in music classes and dances in a round.

But it is necessary to proceed with treatment. Neurologists recommens regular, systematic classes with specialists in neuro correction, sensory integration, ABA therapy, Montessori education, speech therapists, speech pathologists, to undergo physical therapy and massage courses, and to undergo rehabilitation 2-3 times a year at the Koziavkin Clinic in Truskavets. Besides, they recommend to take courses of BAC (Bioacoustic correction) and TOMATIS therapy at the Leprekon+ Correction Center. The next rehabilitation course costing UAH 49,200 begins in spring. The amount is very expensive for a family of immigrants. Mom raises her son alone, as she is divorced; she takes care of a child with a disability, and is simply not able to pay for the constant rehabilitation that is vitally important for her son.
