Help little Mykola. 3

"My son, Drobiazko Mykola, born on May 17, 2009, until 1 year and 3 months grew as an active and sociable child. By this time he had walked with confidence, tried to eat by himself and started to pronounce the first words. The first symptoms appeared one week after vaccination against hepatitis B, which has been made in August 2010. The child started to pull the leg and could not keep anything in his hands.

Since that time we started going to clinics, consultative centers, and laboratories. After 4 months of examination and verification tests our son has been diagnosed with hereditary leukoencephalopathy with highly specific radiologic patterns. Spastic tetraparesis. Hyperkinetic syndrome. Delay of all kinds of the development. By that time Kolia was unable to walk, sit and hold anything in his hands, stopped talking.

Currently, Kolia is constantly undergoing rehabilitation in Kharkiv Rehabilitation Center at the Regional Orphanage №1, every 6 months undergoing treatment in City children's hospital №5, courses of treatment in the sanatorium Hadzhibey in Odessa, regular treatments at the Clinic of the doctor Berseneva and always takes medical drugs, massage, and exercises at home. Positive changes are noticeable in Kolja’s condition. Significant improvements occurred after medical treatment in the clinic of a doctor Berseneva and treatment in Odessa. Due to the sharp increase in prices for medical services, travel, and accommodation, as well as the general deterioration of the economic situation our family is forced to abandon most of the courses that are not in Kharkiv. Kolja has a younger brother, a lovely boy with an inquisitive mind, development, and training of whom also we need. Salary of one employee and disability pensions is barely enough to supply basic life needs of the family from 4 persons. Inability to undergo treatment in specialized clinics, including doctor’s Berseneva clinics, likely will stop progress in treatment and deterioration of the child.

So I appeal to all concerned people: please help to raise the funds for the rehabilitation!!! Believe in our son, he really wants to walk and play with other children. Please do not leave us alone with this disaster!!! Do not stay indifferent. We thank all those who respond to our trouble!".
