Svetlana is a mother of two handicapped children. The younger son Dima was born with Down’s syndrome and the older son Sergey has psycho-speech delay and Cerebral palsy. Svetlana raises her kids alone, Dima’s father left the family after he knew the son’s diagnosis. Due to the stress Svetlana started to lose her vision very fats. Now she cannot see, she has glaucoma and optic atrophy of both eyes. She was diagnosed with vasculitis – her skin has been covered with numerous not healing wounds for several years. The woman needs long-term complex treatment.

The birth of Dima was a real happiness for Svetlana despite the diagnosis was missed during all planned screenings and became apparent only after the birth. Doctors told Svetlana to leave the child under the care of state, but Svetlana could not abandon her helpless child. Later it turned out that Dima required a complicated heart surgery. Svetlana managed to find funds with great difficulty. The kid’s heart was cured and he started to develop faster at ones, he learned how to walk. Svetlana went through the diseases of her children really hard. This influences her health. She started to lose her vision very fast. Further there were surgeries and disability (first vision group). Svetlana could not earn her bread by making orders on tailoring. Even doing some simple everyday things got every time harder. Now Svetlana is completely blind, she has optic atrophy of both eyes. Besides, the woman was diagnosed with vasculitis with numerous skin lesions. She requires a long drug treatment that costs UAH 21,231.00 per one course. She requires at least three courses.
