On June 12, 2025, the project “Help Matviy live without pain” was posted on the platform of the International Charitable Foundation ‘UBB’ dobro.ua for a total amount of UAH 196,960.00 for the treatment of Matviy Loboda at the National Children's Specialized Hospital “OKHMATDIT.” The aim of the project was to raise funds for a boy with a complex diagnosis – "Occlusive hydrocephalus, condition after ventriculo-atriostomy (Medtronic Strata II valve, pressure 2.0), staged LSH, implantation and removal of the Ommaya reservoir, repositioning of the distal LSH catheter in the abdominal cavity. LSH dysfunction. Ascites-peritonitis? Ventricular catheter migration. Condition after ventriculo-vesicostomy."

Matviy had congenital hydrocephalus, a condition in which fluid accumulates in the head and puts pressure on the brain. He had a special shunt installed to drain this fluid. Unfortunately, the shunt malfunctioned and caused an infection that spread rapidly. This condition threatened the baby's life. To save Matviy, urgent neurosurgery using special consumables was necessary.

On July 25, 2025, Matviy underwent complex neurosurgery on his brain.

During the operation, specialized consumables were used, which were necessary for external ventricular drainage and further stabilization of the baby's condition:

External drainage and monitoring kit – necessary for temporary removal of excess cerebrospinal fluid from the brain. This is important for reducing intracranial pressure and stabilizing the child's condition until a permanent shunting system is installed.
Ventricular reservoir, lower inlet, 12 mm with ventricular catheter, small, 23 cm – this is a special device that allows doctors to administer medication directly into the brain or control pressure. The catheter allows for the precise delivery of medication or collection of fluid for analysis.
A programmable shunt system is the main element in the treatment of hydrocephalus. It continuously drains excess cerebrospinal fluid from the brain to another part of the body (usually the abdominal cavity) to reduce pressure. Thanks to a programmable valve, doctors can precisely adjust the volume of fluid drainage to the individual needs of the child.
These consumables were critical for performing the complex neurosurgical operation that saved Matviychuk's life.

Matviy is currently in the hospital for further treatment and observation by doctors. Ahead of him lies a period of recovery, monitoring of his condition, and gradual rehabilitation.

A financial report is submitted on all funds used.
