Such a call for help we received from children of a large family Tymoshchuk."All my life my dad is struggling with a terrible disease. But he was brave, though he feels so rotten because of the chemicals he has to take! Once he was so funny and strong. He is now a very gentle, but pale and weak .. Now he has a chance to recover, doctors from abroad say there is a large percentage that daddy will come back ... I pray every night that he was with us, happy and strong, so together we went into the woods, went to his grandmother, greeted the new year ... " It is written Mykolka, 6-year-old Tetyanka and four other children of Vladimir Tymoshchuk.

In 2004, Vladimir diagnosed "chronic myeloid leukemia" (blood cancer) and had his first chemotherapy. Despite chemotherapy, the disease progressed, the performance started to drop. Medication helped only for a couple of weeks, his condition deteriorated so that Vladimir got disability in 2011.
He had to leave work. But now the wife quit work because her husband needs constant help and as well as the smallest children – her care. Now the family lives in a three-room "Khrushchev" flat for disability pension and their friends’ help. Three older children enrolled in the "budget" at the college and university, one at school and the two go to kindergarten.

In December 2012 friends collected 6000 euro and sent Vladimir for examination and treatment in Belgium. It was at that time the oncology Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels recruited a group of patients for a clinical trial program of a new drug Ponatinib, and Vladimir volunteered to take part in it.
First treatment did not give effect and doctors have wanted to exclude Vladimir from the pilot program, but later tests showed improvement. And now bone marrow transplantation from non-relative donor within the next 2-3 months while blood counts have come more or less back to normal is the only possible way to save Vladimir’s. Once the BMT is made within this time, doctors give 90% chance of success. The full cost of transplantation and post-surgery support in Belgium is Euro 150 000. It is almost impossible to collect such amount for a Ukrainian family with many children even with the help of friends. So far Vladimir’s friends managed to partially pay for and start searching a donor.
We hope for your help and support Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace raise of 150 thousand UAH as part of the amount for Vladimir’s treatment.
