Dear donators, the family of Bohdan Dimitrov has to ask for your help again. The boy is 8 years old now and most of his life he struggles against the consequences of drowning. At the age of one year and three months he fell into a deep pit with water. When the child was taken out, he did not breathe. After the second cardiac standstill the doctors made the conclusion: clinical death (12 minutes), brain is dead, coma, no chance for living. However, Bohdan survived. He had to undergo eight surgeries, purulent meningitis, loss of vision, several comas for three months. Doctors did not give any chances and only his mother prayed and believed that her son is strong and that he will survive.

And he survived. Bohdan was discharged from hospital with diagnosis hypoxic-ischemic CNS injury. Bohdan could not see, move, speak, he got food through the enteral feeding tube. After he was administered 7 courses of Cerebrocurin he was making good progress. After that he required massages and rehabilitation treatment. The boy improved a lot thanks to the caring people. Constant rehabilitations brought good results. Bohdan started his recovery. At the moment he attends the first grade (individual study). He can sit. He can do сommando crawling, pronounce certain words. He loves books, has his favorite poems and fairy-tales, he plays with cars. The boy knows 5 letters, learns the ABC and colors.

Where humans put a full stop, God put a comma. The child’s organism recovers slowly but steadily. Bohdan is a very strong boy and thanks to your help he will walk soon. Unfortunately, the boy has no rehabilitation since September due to the convulsions. Thanks God, all that in the past now and Bohdan is ready to work hard. However, the way to recovery is long and very expensive. The next rehabilitation course is scheduled at “Shah za shahom k tseli” Center of physical rehabilitation and it costs UAH 31,900. The family does not have this money, the mother can’t leave Bohdan, he requires constant care. We kindly ask you to make Bohdan closer to his cherished dream – be able to walk again!
