The second life for oxygen devices
Here you are able to increase the chances of people getting oxygen caddy when they get sick from severe pneumonia or cancer.
The Open Palms Foundation has been specializing in helping children and adults with oxygen deficiency since 2014, long before the problem became known. Every year we got more and more referrals, because more and more people learned that in case of suffocation there is such a way of rescue as the use of an oxygen caddy. And we are constantly buying new oxygen caddies of different power, with and without batteries. Each device helps more than one person. When the need for it disappears, the family returns the device to the warehouse, where it is disinfected and re-equipped with new consumables. Then it goes to the next patient.
Today, the fund owns more than 150 oxygen caddies. None of them is kept at the warehouse – most of the time they are used to serve sick people. Some people use caddies mostly at night or during periods of the disease exacerbation, some – around the clock. It is natural that their service life is gradually reduced and some parts need to be replaced. Zeolite, a substance that acts as a filter, and transfers almost pure oxygen to the human respiratory tracts, trapping the rest of the air components, needs to be periodically restored.
Within the framework of this project we ask for your help in paying for the routine maintenance and repair of our oxygen caddies. The amount of the bills became so significant that now we are not able to manage without a separate fundraising. However, restoring old devices is still much cheaper than buying new ones. Therefore, we will try to maximize the service life of each of them. After all, the life of the people they help to breathe is extended along with them.
