Cerebral palsy will not stop a dream!
Milana Rabin was born under extremely difficult circumstances. During childbirth, the baby’s heartbeat was barely detectable, prompting doctors to urgently perform a cesarean section. Unfortunately, Milana was born almost lifeless. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of medical professionals, she was resuscitated, but by then, her brain had sustained damage, affecting her nervous and musculoskeletal systems.
After birth, incompatibility between the mother’s and child’s blood was discovered. Milana underwent two blood transfusions, but elevated bilirubin levels caused further brain damage. Initially, no problems were apparent, but over time, her mother noticed that Milana was not developing like other children. At six months, she couldn’t sit or crawl on her own. Doctors assured her that it was too early to worry, but a mother’s instinct told her otherwise.
Milana’s mother took action immediately: massages, physical therapy, and swimming sessions. Results came only after six months of intensive work. However, by the age of two, Milana still hadn’t taken her first steps. It was then that doctors diagnosed her with cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia and right-sided hemiparesis).
This news was a devastating blow to the family. Milana’s father could not cope with the situation and left, but her mother remained steadfast. She gathered all her strength and dedicated her life to fighting for her daughter’s future. Constant rehabilitation, faith in God, and immense love have yielded positive results – Milana can walk! She also adores dancing and is already making her first attempts at dance moves!
However, these achievements come at the cost of great pain. Milana requires ongoing treatment to prevent losing the skills and progress she has worked so hard to attain. Cerebral palsy doesn’t wait, and every moment counts. Milana and her mother trust in the kindness of people’s hearts and hope for support!
