This little girl was met with pain even before she had the chance to cry for the first time.
During delivery, Milana’s heart nearly stopped. She came into this world barely alive, and only the decisive actions of the medical team brought her back to life. However, in those critical moments, her brain sustained damage. The consequences became apparent later—when she could not sit up, crawl, or take her first steps like other children her age. Eventually, the diagnosis was made: cerebral palsy.
Milana’s father could not cope with the challenges and left. But her mother’s love became the driving force that carries Milana forward. Together, they have endured countless therapy sessions, rehabilitation courses, pain, exhaustion, and unwavering faith. And then a miracle happened—Milana began to walk. Unsteadily, with great effort, but on her own two feet. And she dances, too. Not on stage or in musicals—but with her soul. Every movement, every step, is a small personal triumph.
Yet these victories are fragile. They require daily effort, professional treatment, and ongoing support. Her mother continues to persevere. And so does Milana.
Recently, the girl completed another course of treatment at the Institute for Pain Problems. According to her mother, it has been the most effective therapy in their entire 11-year journey. Noticeable progress appeared within the very first week: improved coordination, more confident walking, clearer speech, and greater engagement with the world. Her steps are now steadier. Her words are more distinct. Her eyes—alive with light. She has also discovered a love for drawing and swimming.
But in order to preserve this hard-won progress, Milana must continue treatment. Every day of delay risks reversing what has been so painfully achieved.
We kindly ask for your support. Your kindness, compassion, and willingness to help are what bring meaning and hope to Milana’s life. She dreams sincerely of a life without pain—to walk with confidence, to embrace the world, and to share her talents with it.
