Serhiy has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy since birth: spastic diplegia, currently able to walk independently and stand up on his own. He has Level II motor impairment according to the GMFCS classification. His hand function is classified as Level I according to the MACS classification. The child requires systematic rehabilitation 3–4 times a year at the Koziaikin International Rehabilitation Clinic (Truskavets). Treatment at this center, based on Professor Koziaikin’s method developed over 30 years ago, has gained widespread international recognition due to its effectiveness. The multifaceted therapeutic effects of this method, which complement and reinforce one another, are aimed at achieving the primary goal of rehabilitation—improving patients’ quality of life.
Our goal is to get Serhiy back on his feet and give his mother a child with unrestricted mobility.
Thanks to charitable donations, a total of 26,220 (twenty-six thousand two hundred twenty) UAH 00 kopecks was raised on the platform of the International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” (dobro.ua).
Fundraising for the project lasted over 8 months; all fundraising methods were utilized, the treatment course was postponed several times and could no longer be postponed. Since Serhiy’s rehabilitation began on March 21 under our foundation’s guarantee, and given the need to pay for it, we appealed to the Charitable Organization International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” in a letter dated April 23, 2026, No. 10/26, requesting that the amount of 8,780 (eight thousand seven hundred eighty) UAH 00 kopecks be allocated to this project from the “Health” category fund. After the boy completed his course of treatment, we paid the invoice issued by the clinic in the amount of 34,401 (thirty-four thousand four hundred and one) UAH 00 kopecks. The amount turned out to be less than the previous invoice because the clinic cannot accurately calculate the cost of its services in advance. Therefore, the remaining funds in the amount of 599.00 (five hundred ninety-nine) UAH 00 kopecks will be returned to the account of the Charitable Organization International Charitable Foundation “UBB,” and we ask that you dispose of them in accordance with the Rules, Principles, and Procedures.
The rehabilitation course took place from April 21 to May 1, 2026.
After the course of treatment, Mom wrote: “The rehabilitation was a success. We underwent the following procedures:
- neurophysiological spinal correction using Professor Kozyavkin’s method;
- reflexology;
- a massage regimen;
- mobilization exercises;
- joint mobilization;
- paraffin wax applications;
- orofacial massage (facial massage);
- computer-based game therapy;
- magnetotherapy;
- hippotherapy.
As a result of the treatment, muscle tone in the lower limbs has decreased. Many exercises were done during physical therapy. Serhiy benefited from sessions on the hippotherapy machine, as he has coordination issues and poor balance. The doctor says we need to continue exercises at home and return in 3 months. Serhiy is feeling well. He gets tired after the procedures. We’ll try to take a little break and rest. We sincerely thank you for your help. This rehabilitation has benefited Serhiy both physically and psychologically. Serhiy feels wonderful in this environment. No bullying from the other children. And school is ahead. Peace and health to all of us. Thank you…”
