And today, for over eight months Lilia Burzayeva has been fearlessly fighting against the serious oncological disease – acute lymphoblastic leukemia, with the help of our financial support. Thanks to the funds raised during the first stage of the project, the little girl has coped virtually with the entire course of chemotherapy. More than 30 thousand UAH were spent to buy expensive drugs for the treatment of the young girl. However, the struggle continues and Lilia needs help!

At the initial stage of the treatment of little Lilya, doctors gave absolutely no guarantees in respect of her health, but the girl, in spite of doctors’ concerns, has been patiently coping with all phases of the hard treatment day by day. Sometimes they had to stop chemotherapy because of deterioration the little girl’s health. Having however overcome critical states (connected with low blood values, mycotic infection and liver problems), Lilia and her mother Olesya continued to fight against leukemia.

Sure enough, but for such kind Guardian Angels as you, our dear donors, it would have been much more difficult if not practically impossible for Lilia and Olesya to overcome this heartrending experience. Every week it was necessary to buy medicines at the price of up to one thousand hryvnas. Such sums are impossible for the Burzayevs family as Olesya is a single mother and they live on a disability pension.

In summer 2014 Lilya’s treatment situation grew more complicated with the onset of active hostilities in Donetsk and interruption in deliveries of drugs to the city. Accordingly, Lilya’s relatives decided to continue her treatment in Kiev.

On August 18 Lilia and Olesya Burzayevs left Donetsk for Kyiv in a reanimobile. Until January 2015 Lilia had been in the Children’s Hematology Department of Kiev Regional Clinical Hospital No.1, where she had undergone the second and nearly completed the third protocols of chemotherapy.

Since January 25 the treatment of the little girl has been continued at her home. Every week she is to attend the hospital and make tests which govern further treatment. During a year and a half Lilia is to take the pills Purinetol and Methotrexate as "dry chemo". The dose depends on tests results. At present the Burzayevs family is hiring an old one-roomed flat in the town of Irpen near Kiev. It is impossible to move closer to the hospital and to a better flat because of very high costs.

Dear donors! We turn to you for help for this little but quite strong girl. Without your support, it will be very difficult for Lilia and her mother to cope with the serious illness on their own and live life of a healthy child, filled with happy moments, to the full!
