I dream of going to school on my own

In February 2022, the project "I dream of going to school with my own feet" was posted on the website of dobro.ua, the purpose of which was to raise funds to pay for a course of treatment for Katya Pokotylo.

The girl's treatment was scheduled for February 15, 2022, but due to the fact that we did not have time to collect the necessary funds, and Katya Svitlana's mother decided that her daughter would undergo at least part of the rehabilitation, an amount of UAH 3,660 was withdrawn as part of the collection. Thus, Katya underwent part of the treatment at the "Rostok Zhittya" Clinic in Kharkiv. The treatment lasted until February 24, 2022, on that day a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation began, and Svitlana and Katya had to urgently leave the Center and evacuate the city.

The rest of the amount was collected in October 2022. In connection with the constant shelling of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and the overcrowding of clinics, Svitlana was able to enroll her daughter for rehabilitation in February 2023 at the Brain Stimulation Center Clinic, located in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. So, on February 22, 2022, our Fund paid for the girl's treatment for a total of UAH 30,370.00. The child's treatment course was divided into two stages - the first ended in February, and Katya finished the second part in July. The act for rehabilitation is dated February 23, 2023 due to the working conditions of the Clinic's accounting department.

Svitlana's mother shares with us Katya's successes during treatment: "After rehabilitation, the tone in Katyusha's legs decreased a lot, she began to sleep better. Specialists say that she is very well done and tries very hard. Katya has a great chance to walk with her legs, and I really hope that soon we will go to school with our legs instead of a wheelchair. Thank you very much."
