How is it to hear?

"Hello! My name is Tolia, and I am 10 years old. Let’s meet! Tell about what you like? Music? What is "music"? Communicate with friends? This is when two people can talk and hear each other? And I have never heard the voice of my friends. Moreover, I did not know that people can speak and hear at all. Because my diagnosis is tiredness. And many other diseases, possibly related to the first diagnosis, and perhaps not, I do not know. Life has deprived me of full value but still gives me a chance to get closer to it. And I really hope that you will support me in this...". 

Deafness. This illness is not visible. And a little child who was born with it - can not say that something is wrong with him, moreover – little human does not even know that. Indeed, without a special diagnosis, the problem becomes noticeable only in 2-3 years, when parents begin to worry because the child does not speak. This happened in Tolia’s life. Mother and others noticed that Tolia may be deaf only when the boy was 4 years old. Prior to this diagnosis was not seen due to additional diagnoses – mental retardation, motor function disorder, and many others, the boy received the status of a disabled person.

Tolia is 10 years old, and he still does not speak. Now the child is studying in the Kherson specialized boarding school, and he needs a hearing aid that will give a chance for the boy to speak. Unfortunately, nobody from the surrounding is able to buy this necessary for Tolya’s life apparatus, therefore, hope only for careless people. When a person does not hear, it causes a lot of problems in life. May cause a deviation in the psyche, a person may often endanger the danger, because he does not hear the truck behind, the riding train, the dog that is aggressively barking. We can talk a lot about everyday life situations in which a deaf or hard-haired person feels inferior... But such people can not enjoy the beautiful, because hearing is one of the most important human senses! Fortunately, it can be fighted. In Ukraine, according to the results of epidemiological studies, for 1000 normal births, 1 child is born with complete deafness, 2-3 deafness develops in the first 2 years of life.
