A quality vacation for children!

Each year the Ukrainian scout organization "Plast" organizes recreational camps for children. Through living in nature filled surroundings, the Plast camp offers the perfect means for developing the child's best qualities and abilities. And every year we face the same challenge of placing children from both poor and large families into the camps. We hope that, thanks to your generous support, we would be able to grant many children an opportunity to have an enjoyable time in our camps this summer again.

Plast is the only youth organization in Ukraine, which has a clearly defined and effective educational system. The syllabus includes group meetings, walks, tours and art, intellectual and sport competitions. During the year Plast organizes more than 110 educational and recreation camps where scouts can exercise and improve their skills and knowledge.

The programme "A quality vacation for children!” provides the opportunity for as many as 400 children to have a fantastic and interesting two-week vacation, based on scout methodology that has been successfully implemented worldwide for over 100 years. We combine summer recreation with education, development of patriotism, leadership and outdoor skills. At the same time, the camp teaches self-endurance. Walking tours help to develop confidence and strength. Traditional evening gatherings around scout bonfires give children the opportunity to open their hearts in a peaceful atmosphere. The camp program is routinely planned which prevents children having aimless afternoons at camp.

The cost for one child is 1000 to 1400 UAH for the 2-week camp. The price includes high standard mentorship, daily meals, insurance and camp maintenance costs. Also the price covers the travel and living costs of our volunteers who work on the camp 24 hours a day.

This amount is not affordable for many families, so we are looking for additional sources of funding. And every year we have to seek extra funds to cover volunteers’ cost etc. The number of camps we can organise strongly depends on the availability of funds and hence the number of children who can enjoy this unique Scouting summer.

This project was canceled, the amount collected is 401 UAH. The funds were disposed of in accordance with the Rules, Principles, and Procedures of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace (UBB) International Charitable Fund and the decisions of the Project Donors.
