Yana needs help to purchase orthoses

Yana lives in Ternopil. Despite her young age, Yana’s life has been full of challenges and struggles. She was prematurely born at 31 weeks and could not breathe on her own. The girl spent two weeks in intensive care and another two months in the premature infant care unit. At the age of 6 months, Yana was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Yana’s parents began a long process to fight for their daughter’s health; they went to various rehabilitation centers and hospitals in Ukraine. And the long-term treatment has paid off: at the age of 9, the girl can sit independently, she can crawl and stand up holding on to support, she walks with support and attends school. But there is still a lot of work waiting ahead and it is not the time to stop now. The girl dreams of living a full life - running, jumping and playing with other children.

Every month the family bears the high cost of Yana’s treatment. They can not afford to purchase the knee and ankle orthoses required. Orthopaedic products are essential for the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy, and for Yana they are a necessity. The girl will be very happy to receive the necessary orthoses!
