The only chance for life!

UPD: The Ministry of Health of Ukraine allocated funds for the treatment of Yasmina in Italy, so we stopped the collecting money on the UBB website. Detailed information in the blog of the project and in the heading "Documentation". Thanks to everyone who supported the girl! Little Yasmina is not even two years old but she has already spent one-third of her life in hospitals. She had to be examined plenty of times, these were punctures and biopsies, Yasmina stayed with five various medical institutions and had been operated several times followed by chemotherapy. Now she needs one more chemotherapy course and bone marrow transplantation abroad which costs EUR 125,000. Since August 2018 the parents fight for their daughter’s life as hard as they can.

At first, the doctors diagnosed a common cold, then angina and cytomegalovirus, they prescribed to treat the baby at home but poor Yasmina’s state was becoming worse. Then the mother noticed a small bulge on her cheek. They immediately applied to a local dentist who advised them to urgently visit the Dental Studies and Surgery Institute in Odesa. There Yasmina’s gums were opened and there the dentists found a tumor which was taken for investigation. 

In the next two weeks, the parents discovered some induration on the belly. Ultrasound investigation has shown that it was a cyst which needed to be urgently removed. In order to excise this tumor, the family went to Kyiv where new analyses, ovariectomy, finding out of several more tumors in the gums and vertebral column were diagnosed. Following a series of examinations the blood cancer – myeloid sarcoma was diagnosed. This is a rather rare disease with the children but it is very grave and is referred to a high-risk group. Transplantation of the bone marrow can help only. This is the only chance for the girl to live. As Yasmina has no brothers or sisters and because the parents are incompatible with the child, they may not be donors, so the operation abroad is necessary. The University Clinic in Verona (Italy) is ready to take the girl for treatment. The parents received an invoice for EUR 125,000. The parents have already applied for assistance to the Ministry of Health and wait for its reply.

Naturally, the parents cannot give up and just sit and wait while their child suffers intensely every day. They are panicking and are in fear of her life but still, they understand that nobody except them will fight for the dear daughter. The parents use every chance, they are making all efforts to save their small and beloved daughter Yasmina and make an appeal for help to caring people. Just stop for a while, extend a helping hand and share your kindness with the sick child!
