Igor has been fighting for his life for quite a few years by now. He had often been on the brink of death and sometimes he isn't even sure how he managed to hold on. But we definitely know this: in the fight for one's life, every bit of effort is important. It is your help that might provide that little bit that will tip the balance, helping Igor survive. Since the day he was born, he has had cystic fibrosis. It is a serious illness that exhausts the body because of frequent episodes of infection, consumes the body mass because of high fevers and interferes with nutrient absorption besides. Given those circumstances, the only way to hold on is by having nutritional supplements. But Igor has completely run out of these supplements at present. Please help Igor – he wants to keep fighting.

Thanks to our fundraising during the last project, we bought enough nutritional supplements to get Igor through the fall and winter. Igor used it wisely – only on the days when his infection was particularly severe and he was feeling really bad. He spent almost two months in the hospital, dealing with an exacerbation of cystic fibrosis. During the previous hospital admissions for the same reason, he used to lose about two kilograms (4.4 pounds) of body weight each time. When you are already underweight, that is bad. Igor is 174 centimeters (5 ft 8 in) tall but he weighs only about 46 kilograms (101 pounds).

Igor has several species of bacteria that have now taken residence in his lungs, and these infections have become chronic--it's very difficult to get rid of them. He has to do multiple nebulizer treatments every day, with antibiotics and with special expectorant medications. Because the nebulizer machine is so heavily used, the disposable supplies for it wear out quickly. We are asking you to support this project, so we can buy Igor the nutritional supplements and the nebulizer supplies he urgently needs.
