Ihor needs a chance for a healthy, happy future

We were approached by Iryna, whose son has a disability - Ihor has cerebral palsy. The boy was born and lives in Kharkiv. He was a very long-awaited child, born on time, and discharged home on the third day. The first week of his life, the boy slept very little, did not eat and was moody. After a comprehensive examination, the boy was diagnosed with bilateral intrauterine pneumonia, genetic pathologies, developmental delays, heart disease and joint hypermobility. None of the doctors made any prognoses, only recommendations and treatment. Later, the boy was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

During the first year of his life, Ihor was often ill, had another pneumonia and many bronchitis. He was very weak, underweight and developmentally delayed, but the family did not give up. The parents grabbed every opportunity to pull their son out of this serious condition: they followed medication, did physical therapy and massage every day. Ihor attended swimming pools, sensory integration classes, and intensive rehabilitation courses using various techniques to improve his quality of life. This led to small victories, Ihor grew stronger and began to gain weight. By the age of 7 months, he began to hold his head, by the age of one and a half years he was able to sit up, and he started to stand on his feet only after two years. The boy's path to a healthy and happy childhood continues to this day.

Currently, Ihor is 8 years old, he has a delay in psycho-emotional and speech development, he does not run or jump, does not speak or hear in one ear, and has impaired coordination, fine and gross motor skills. However, the boy has all the chances to fix it, he is a very promising, inquisitive and cheerful child. Ihor always takes part in everyday life, helps his mother clean, do laundry and is involved in every way possible in the household. He likes to travel, read books, play and take care of his pets, watch cartoons, enjoys playgrounds and children's rooms, and spending time in the company of children.

Ihor needs systematic training and rehabilitation in order not to lose his skills and learn new ones! That's why the family is asking for help, because they have already exhausted all their possibilities and savings and cannot pay for expensive rehabilitation on their own. The parents will be extremely grateful for any help and opportunity to improve their boy's health!
