Another childhood

«Alterative childhood» – is a children’s supporting program for kids with variable psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders , who are the patients of psychiatric department of Kiev psychiatric hospital. The success of their adaptation depends on the efficiency of therapy and decent care. The objective of this project is to help children's psychiatric department organize high-quality diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders.

Leading centers and medical institutions working with ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) which was developed in the United States. ADOS help diagnose autism from 12 months of age, when most of the symptoms are not clear, and go away with progressive care program as soon as possible.

Since the beginning of 2013 ADOS is represented in Ukraine. It is inclued into clinical protocol of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for people with autism spectrum disorders. However, for most hospitals it is not available because of the high cost. We collect funds for diagnostic kits psychological testing, ie psychological test starter kit ADOS.

This will be the first set for early diagnosis of autism in TMO "Psychiatry". Previously, experts association was not possible to carry out a full diagnosis of autism by world standards. The use of the diagnostic kit will allow as accurate as possible to diagnose and plan treatment individually.
