Fairy Playroom for Children

There is a playroom at the HealthRight Service Center for Women and Girls. Children, whose mothers receive services in the Center, spend their time and play here. However, the Center has no opportunities to make this room really “children’s”, cozy and homelike.

The HealthRight Center provides services for disadvantaged young women. Most of them live on the streets, don’t have access to medical services, are discriminated because of HIV-positive status or suffer from violence.

These women often come to the Center with their children – during the 2 years almost 400 children visited us. While mothers solve their problems with psychologist, lawyer or social worker, experts of the Center work with children. We play educational games, read books with children, or just play with them.

Heretofore we had to deal with this loud and cheerful company in a hallway. Today we have an additional room, but lack money for its arrangement. We want to make repairs there, buy the necessary children’s furniture, games. In addition, we plan to decorate the walls with drawings of fairytale characters to give these kids a piece of colorful childhood. All in all, we wish this room to look like on this photo!

The HealthRight Service Center for Women and Girls was founded in 2010 with the support of Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation and Elton John AIDS Foundation. Over 2 years the Center helped 789 young women, who live or work on the street, and also 393 of their children. Here in the Center our clients can take a shower, wash their clothes, eat, and also consult a psychologist, lawyer or social worker. We assist in obtaining temporary housing, job placement, receiving medical services and provide material support such as clothes, hygiene products, baby food, medicines etc.

We ask you to respond to our request for help. After all, there is no fault of these children that their mothers had no luck. Everybody has the right to happiness and a fun childhood! The right to the fairy playroom.
