Dear donors! You already know Lerochka Budiachenko. The girl had heart problems almost from birth. Her heart was constantly growing, losing its elasticity, and could not cope with its function. It was a threat to her life. When Lera was 11 years old, the pills were no longer helping her. She needed a heart transplant. So, on March 31, 2018, Lera underwent a heart transplant operation in India, funded by the Ministry of Public Health.

After heart transplantation, the main method of determining the state of the transplanted organ is endomyocardial biopsy – a procedure for obtaining heart tissue samples for examination. Lerochka has already had 3 biopsies. The first one was paid for by the Ministry of Public Health, the second and the third were paid for from the funds collected by donors at the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace. Biopsy after transplantation is to be performed for 4-5 years. Based on the results of the biopsy, corrective treatment is prescribed.

Due to the age of the patient and the need for an appropriate medical base, not many clinics were ready to carry out this procedure. Lerа’s mother received rejections from clinics in Turkey, Belarus, Czech Republic. The Berlin Cardiology Center, having studied all the peculiarities of Lerochka's condition, agreed to accept her. The cost is 11,991.00 euros. In addition to the biopsy, this includes coronarography (studies of arteries that supply blood to the heart), because Lera now has an adult heart, and the vessels are still those of a child.

Lera needs the biopsy as soon as possible. Negotiations with clinics took a long time, and now there is almost no time for fundraising. But the procedure cannot not be missed, because after transplanting for several years the main threat is rejection of the transplant.
