Kharkiv children are preparing for school

In February 2024, the project “Kharkiv children are preparing for school” was posted on the dobro.ua platform for a total amount of UAH 13,206.00 to pay the salary of the head of the “Preparation for school” group. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, children in the Kharkiv region have been deprived of many opportunities, including educational ones. Unfortunately, today only underground schools are operating, which are not enough for the scale of Kharkiv. And state kindergartens are not working at all. We are used to the fact that a child receives his first writing and reading skills in kindergarten. In life without war, this is exactly the case. But since 2022, Kharkiv families with children have been living in a different reality, where kindergartens and schools are not working, where children are studying remotely, spending most of the day at home. And a child must get acquainted with letters together with his parents or in private kindergartens, which cost a lot of money. The Otradne creativity center for children and families has been operating in Kharkiv for over 25 years, where children have the opportunity to attend various clubs. Including "Preparing a child for school". Thanks to the club, children get used to being in a team, learn to hold a pen in their hand and write their first letters and numbers, learn the basics of reading, etc. Thanks to being in a "school" environment, children gain an understanding of what school classes are, how they are conducted, how to behave, etc.
Thanks to the funds collected on the dobro.ua platform, the salary of the head of the "Preparation for school" club for September and October (partially) 2025 was paid. Thanks to this, 38 children had the opportunity to regularly attend classes and develop basic reading, writing, arithmetic skills, communicate with peers and form communication skills at the Otradne Creativity Center for Children and Families.
The funds were received in July, but the project report was submitted with a delay due to the fact that the group began operating in September 2025.
