A boy-reed. 2

Serhii Petryshyn has a brittle bone disease. His bones can break at any moment even just from standing on his feet. He always breaks legs or arms, often several bones simultaneously. Serhiy suffers from a hideous pain. The boy can wear a cast for several months. As soon as he takes the cast off, other bones are broken.  

A year ago, thanks to the concerned people, we have managed to gather money on the metal rod, that was placed in the boy’s leg. It has helped Serhiy to stand on feet on his own. It’s a great success. The bones of Serhiy don’t break so often now. However, he needs the same surgery on another leg in March. The cost of the implant is 140 000 UAH. Doctors convince that boy will be able to walk again with implants in both legs.

“I have referred to different local and regional fonds, but faced the rejections or just avoidance. Please, don’t turn away from us. Help us to gather at least half of the amount”, begs Serhii's mother. The charity fund "You are an Angel" helped to gather a necessary amount of money for the metal rod. After 4 months of rehabilitation and medication taking, a boy needs a second surgery. The surgery had to be in November, however, it was postponed to March, because of lack of money.

We ask all kind people to join the charity collection. Serhiy hopes to run and play with other children. He has a lot of energy and dreams. The only thing that stops him is the fear to break the bones again. Kharkiv Institute of a spine and joint pathology will provide medical treatment. Doctors make no doubt, a boy can walk. All we have to do is to stick together and help people in need.
