To walk is the greatest Bogdan's desire

When Bogdanchyk was born, his mother Natasha’s joy knew no limits. But in a 1 month, at the planned visit to the clinic, neurologist called into attention – damage to central nervous system. Doctor prescribed strong medication therapy and massages. When the child was a year old, he and his mother went to Kiev to the rehabilitation center for children with organic lesion of the central nervous system, and already there was a terrible diagnosis – dyskinetic cerebral palsy, hyperkinetic form of mental retardation.

It was a beginning of the endless trips to rehabilitation centers, sanatoriums, expensive medications, which continues to this day.

Bogdanchyk is the first and only child in the family, so mother is the one who is responsible for his education and treatments. Here's what she wrote to us: "I really want to see my son become a healthy child, give him the joy of a childhood. When he is asked: “What do you want?” his only response is to "walk". Bogdanchyk is not asking for new toys, sweets, entertainment. He just wants to walk and loves when he is lead with support. Believe me, it is very painful and hard to look at my child who cannot make a step on his own, but really wants and tries to.

I want to appeal to the good people who are sympathetic to our grief – help Bogdanchyk! Doctors say that the child shows potential; there is a chance for recovery. But he constantly needs to undergo expensive treatments, which I, unfortunately, do not have the money for".

The whole family's income from social disability assistance is 1 200 UAH. One course of treatment (without accommodation and meals) for neurophysiological therapy in the rehabilitation clinic in the city of Truskavets is 7 890 UAH. Bogdanchyk needs at least two treatments a year.
