Kristina cannot wait!

Kristina is 5 years old. She was admitted to the hospital with severe exacerbation - pulmonary hypoxia. The level of oxygen in her blood was 50% (normal - up to 90)! It is gradually raising now with the help of the oxygen apparatus in the hospital resuscitation. Kristina's mother says that the girl can't be transferred to a regular ward - as there is no oxygen devices in other departments. As soon as the oxygen unit is the only device to be used by all patients in the intensive care division, it can not be transferred temporarily with Kristina to a different department. Kristina urgently needs medical equipment for daily treatment at home and a package of special high-calorie nutrition because the serious illness has already damaged the child’s body severely and we must take a serios fight for her life. 

Kristina has cystic fibrosis - a congenital disease caused by DNA breakage. There is no one to blame, it's just happened. A lot of healthy adults are carriers of certain mutations of DNA and are not even aware of this. Cystic fibrosis is still impossible to cure completely, but you can live with it. In this case, the patient has to make a serious work himself - to perform many procedures every day, to stick to the regime and to keep a certain lifestyle. However, this lifestyle requires not only the efforts and patience of the sick, but also huge financial investments as well.

Kristina's parents tried as best they could, but they can not not cope with everything themselves as the cost of full therapy of cystic fibrosis considerably exceeds the average income of a Ukrainian family. But the girl can not wait. Both the duration and the quality of her little life depend now on that fact how fast she will get everything she needs.
