In Ukraine there is no possibility to treat orphans with autism and Cerebral palsy! To conduct lessons on animal therapy, substituting sensor rooms, our therapists have to obtain special certificate that is not available in Ukraine. Polish colleagues agreed to train and certificate our doctors. But it is necessary to find money for their trip to Mykolaiv.

The aim of the project is to organize and conduct of qualitative trainings on Canis therapy for orphans with disabilities. They are the children with Cerebral palsy, autism, and Down’s syndrome. Canis therapy – is a type of therapy, where specially trained dogs become the doctors. To obtain the permission for such trainings in orphanages, our therapists have to pass special certification. Polish specialists agreed to train and certify us without any payment (Poland - the only country in the world where the Canis therapist is an official profession!), but we need money for their transport expenses and translation services. Unfortunately in Ukraine there are no specialists, able to share their experience in this field.

Canis therapy substitutes the treatment process in “sensor rooms”. Indeed, not every institution can presume such rooms in their infrastructure. Therapy is based on the simultaneous influence on all the sense organs of human. Depth subcortex is the primary object of such influence. But the most important in medical Cynology is the influence of energy, caused by the vicinity of the animal, the warmth of its body, and heartbeat. Scientists proved that the stroking of dog causes normal heart activity, enhancing mood, decrease of stress hormones. Pulse and breath frequency become normal, arterial tension decreases.

Unfortunately none of the animal therapy is conducted for orphans with disabilities. At present we work with children of complete families. And we need special permission to work with orphans for free. And we have already found specialists from Poland, agreed to conduct such training and certify us on the program “Canis therapy”. But we still need support for the translation services, transport, and accommodation. And we also have to transfer 3 Labradors that are already trained, to the training places. Average budget is 10 000 UAH. Little orphans have no other source of support. Please, help these children!
