Books in Braille: I want and I can read!

Does your child like to read colorful books and look at the colorful illustrations in them? If so, you are a lucky person, because your child can see! Our wards are blind, but they love reading more than anything else. However, they need special books printed in Braille and/or with audio. We have learned how to create such books, even fill them with colorful drawings that can be touched with fingers. We also record theatrical audiobooks that delight children. Support this project, and hundreds of blind children in Ukraine will have new books and be able to read them! We continue to raise funds to print books in Braille and record audiobooks so that every blind child can proudly say: "I read this book too!".

A regular book can be purchased at any bookstore. But you can't buy a book for the blind anywhere! These books have a high cost (the price of one copy can reach from 800 to 4,000 UAH) and are printed in small editions (up to 100 copies). Of course, no family raising a blind child can afford such a luxury. But children want to read...

If you support this project, our volunteer team will be able to print 20-30 new editions with a total circulation of 3,000 to 5,000 books. These are books by cult Ukrainian and European authors. Printing will continue until the funds raised are fully exhausted, which is why the number of new editions may be higher than stated.

We will distribute the new books free of charge to blind children at their place of residence, special schools for visually impaired children and the online library brailem.com. The fact that the books have been delivered will be confirmed by a list of recipients stamped by Ukrposhta, which includes the names of each child and the details of all the schools to which the books will be sent. They will be printed and announced on an ongoing basis as funds are raised, not after the project is completed. This way, donors will always be able to track what is being published and to whom each copy has been delivered.
Our creative and caring team is already looking forward to the joyful smiles of children holding new Braille books in their hands!
