From year to year, Ukrainians, who care children from state institutions, realize that candies, toys, and fashionable clothes are not enough for happiness and a confident start in independent life for orphans. They know that children need the knowledge to adapt to the modern world of information technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.

For the last some years, the “You are an Angel” Charitable Foundation has been implementing the “Small Angel School” project. It aims at teaching, encouraging, demonstrating, and supporting children in orphanages. Volunteers of the foundation help orphans to find themselves and develop their talents, in particular by holding master classes, workshops, and trainings. For a long time, we have been watching that take a keen interest in computer literacy for a long time. It is amazing, but this interest is manifested not only in computer games, but also in desire to learn text, spreadsheet, and graphics programs, and software for creating presentations. They do it very well; the only problem is that there are no decent conditions for learning. Available computers are humanitarian aid that is already crumbling due to the physical state of technology.

As part of the “Small Angel School”, we have already managed to open and update three computer rooms in state social institutions, equip workplaces with modern monitors, system units, copiers, laptops. Today we set ourselves another task – to update a computer room at the Interregional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children. To do this, we need five sets of personal computers and a multifunction device. This will be enough for us to form future reformers, scientists, engineers and other specialists.
