News – August 2026

At the end of July, Volodymyr’s parents contacted us, concerned about their child’s deteriorating condition. The doctors were unable to provide treatment without the results of a genetic test. The parents were therefore forced to make an urgent decision — not to wait for the fundraising campaign to be completed, but to borrow the necessary amount to cover the cost of the test. Blood samples were taken at the G.LAB Company medical laboratory and sent to a laboratory in Germany. The test results are expected in about two months.

The family travelled to Kyiv, where, at the Institute of Immunology, Volodymyr was diagnosed with a neuroinfection caused by herpes types 6 and 7 and prescribed temporary supportive treatment with Bioven. After two vials of the medicine, the child began to feel better. The Institute recommended continuing the treatment and undergoing a further two courses of three vials of Bioven each, whilst awaiting the results of the genetic test.

We then approached our long-standing partners, the charitable organisation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’, asking for permission to use the funds already raised to urgently provide the child with Bioven and to continue treatment based on the results of the genetic analysis.

At the same time, we asked for changes to be made to the project description, for the fundraising campaign to be closed, for the project amount on the Ukrainian Charity Exchange to be reduced to the amount actually raised, and for the funds to be transferred to our bank account to cover the cost of Volodymyr’s treatment.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all donors and followers of dobro.ua for supporting Vova!
