Step towards real life

It's hard to imagine life without traveling or even simple walking in the park. However, there are people for whom the usual walk becomes an event about which they will remember for a long time, sitting at home and viewing the familiar landscape picture outside the window. Young people with problems of the musculoskeletal system, moving only with the wheelchair, are limited to the usual things for ordinary people, although last summer they were lucky to visit Shatsk for a FEW DAYS. It was something unheard of – to sleep in a tent with your friends and just to sit on the margin of a lake... Earlier they were in the Carpathians. This's the whole world for the 25-year-old people.

They are already over 5 years the members of FC "Karpaty" fan club, called "Faithful Lions". There are 25 people united with strong friendship and a common problem: they can't walk on their own. Young people aged 18-25 visit all home games of the football club and they have visited 5 out matches within Ukraine, and it is an amazing event for them. FC "Karpaty"provides fuel for their bus for visiting all home games as well as games in the western Ukraine and Kyiv.

In 2014 we hope to visit Shatski lakes, spend the nights in tents which were purchased for them by the Charity Fund of St. Volodymyr, to communicate with friends and volunteers, to touch the quiet waters of true lake, to broil the potatoes, and after all – to look at the native land through the window of the bus by which they'll go to Shatsk. We also hope to visit with FC Karpaty" the out matches in Kyiv and Uzhgorod by a special bus with a lift.

The participation in matches and a trip to the forest lakes in Shatsk – these are all their entertainment activities, that they sincerely are glad of it with all heart and are waiting for. These trips fill their hearts with faith and hope, waiting for a miracle, and filling warmth and forcing to make efforts to get another chance to make a step closer to the life that is raging there, outside the apartment.

To make their dream comes true, some caring people have helped them with tents, bus, etc.. At UBB, (Ukrainian Philantropic Marketplace) it's planned to raise funds for the rental of 2 special buses with the lifts for wheelchairs by the route Lviv-Shatsk-Lviv, as well as for partial payment to purchase some food for 25 participants of the summer camp in Shatsk lakes fot 7 days.

"We appeal to all concerned people to help us in collecting of the necessary funds – 5000 UAH to keep our hopes into reality. Because the trip to the lake or to participate in a football match is not just a rare but unattainable point. It requires not only money but the work of many volunteers and our relatives, so we сan't arrange it as often as we would like. We sincerely hope that caring people will bring us the gift of awaited travel and help us make at least one more step towards the real active life!"
